Nintendo
Nintendo is the company that has created the classic consoles NES/Family Computer, SNES and N64. They have also pioneered handheld systems such as GameBoy, GameBoy Advanced and DS. Several years ago the company finally retooled its cartridge format into DVD with the GameCube. In recent times, it has developed and delivered the unique gaming system called Wii. During the dawn of 32-bit console wars it has lost its hold as the number one console maker due to the emergence of Sony and its PlayStation. Right now it's back on the driver's seat as it surpassed the sales of XBox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Microsoft has entered the video game console wars with the XBox and XBox 360, competing with Sony and Nintendo for gamer loyalty. In its course it has joined the fray of launching some of Sony's exclusive titles giving the said competitor a run for its money. With XBox Live giving gamers probably the best online experience and the fact that the XBox 360 console is inexpensive when bought with the XBox 360 Arcade package, it may be just a matter of time before it totally dominates the gaming markets all over the globe especially with the emergence of games like Halo 3.

It has given us the largest CD and DVD-based gaming library along with its highly popular and exclusive titles like Metal Gear, Final Fantasy and Tekken series. Notably, PS 2 might be the most successful gaming system of all time and even until now games are being created and released in this console. PlayStation Portable is today's most popular handheld console. Also currently, its new PlayStation 3 is competing with Wii and XBox 360 for market leadership.
